Sophie the founder of BeWise Parenting

Who Am I?

I am a qualified social worker with over a decade of frontline experience in child protection, family support, and community services. Over the years, I’ve worked directly with families facing complex challenges, guiding them through safeguarding concerns and offering meaningful support. Alongside this, I’ve also trained and advised professionals on best practices and tools to measure child development, for supporting vulnerable children and families.

In my work, I continued to observe the same recurring challenges. Families were attempting to live up to expectations without proper guidance, and professionals lacked available, structured tools to simplify their task. These gaps motivated me to develop BeWise Parenting – a means to translate specialized knowledge into tangible resources for social workers and parents that make a real impact.

BeWise is not only a personal testament but also the knowledge gained from a lifetime of practice. It is constructed on the basis that families succeed if support is transparent, stable, and evidence informed.

What do I Do?

BeWise Parenting is an online platform that aims to offer handy, therapeutic, and assessment-led family support toolkit materials. Such materials are simple to use, trauma-sensitive, and ready to implement in direct work with children and parents.

This site has been developed with professionals in mind, most specifically those in child protection, early help, and family support roles. Each toolkit is designed to save time, lighten workload, and offer pre-prepared content that assists professionals to involve families constructively. Simultaneously, the resources are just as helpful for parents, providing support that can be used confidently at home.

You can discover our latest training materials in the Store, where you can access toolkits to help families and professionals in actual situations. More toolkits are always in development, as we continually create resources on most important topics, so professionals and parents have access to what they need most.

If you need something special, we also offer bespoke toolkits you can use alongside the families you are working with. This is where you can order a bespoke resource that is specifically created for your requirements. BeWise Parenting is now branching out into consulting too, to provide professionals with personalised tools and packages to help you successfully promote healthy family life and more resilient relationships for the families you work with.

Why It Matters?

Kids do well when they feel safe, stable, and supported. And families function best when they feel listened to and empowered, rather than just being told what to do by professionals. BeWise Parenting’s goal is to equip professionals and families with the knowledge and tools to work collaboratively and holistically, with the shared aim of improving children’s everyday experiences and long-term outcomes.

We support practical, accessible, and family-centered resources, without jargon or a "one size fits all" mandate. All toolkits and resources are based on frontline social work practice and are crafted to be evidence-informed and trauma-sensitive. This way, what we offer is not only sound but actually effective in supporting families.

Our strategy is not about merely disseminating information, it's about giving parents and professionals the tools to effectively, it's about giving parents and professionals the tools to effectively build on strengths, support development, and sustain meaningful, positive change that genuinely improves outcomes for children.

For Professionals

If you're a frontline professional, you'll appreciate that time is one of the greatest challenges. Heavy caseloads and mounting pressures make it difficult to always be able to find or create the right tools for your work.

That's where BeWise Parenting is of assistance. Our resources for social workers and family practitioners are to ease the burden on your workload. Each toolkit is prepared-for-use, formatted, and straightforward to use, taking the confidence away and releasing time for what's important, supporting children and families.

These resources are also assessment-oriented, in the sense that they not only offer advice but also provide strategies for monitoring progress and measuring children's development. This makes them especially valuable for showing impact in reports, planning, and professional practice.
